Enjoy Your Weeknight Meals

Lauren Silva

A new year is the perfect time to establish new routines and healthy habits that will help us grow into our best selves. With each beginning comes the opportunity to set intentions, make changes, and get clear about our wants and goals. At DEFINE foods, we want to offer approachable ways to incorporate wellness routines into your everyday life. Whether it’s increasing your intake of greens with a daily smoothie, scheduling time for self-care, or creating a meal-prepping strategy, we want to help you transition into 2019: your year for health + vibrance.

For a lot of people a common New Year’s resolution may include cooking more at home. This is a great habit to incorporate into your daily life as it saves money, deepens your relationship with your food, and may even reveal a hidden love and/or talent for cooking! For those that feel uninspired, unmotivated, or simply lost when it comes to establishing this new routine, we’ve created the workshop for you. Often a lack of time-management or stress over what to prepare keeps us from cooking at home and relying on restaurants or takeout. However, at DEFINE foods we want to share tips to create weeknight meals that are stress-free, simple, and completely manageable amidst busy schedules.

On January 25th, we invite you to join Chef Erin Stewart and Houston’s only KonMari organizing consultant, Ashley Barber, for a Joyful Weeknight Meals Workshop to learn how to create a kitchen that is a joy to cook in for you and your family.

What is ‘KonMari?’

Marie Kondo wrote a best-selling novel, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up, which serves as a guide to decluttering your home. She’s quoted saying, “From the moment you start tidying, you will be compelled to reset your life. As a result, your life will start to change.” With such a powerful effect, it’s no surprise that we try to implement some of her tips into our everyday lives, however, sometimes we could all use the help of a professional.

We wanted to team up with Ashley Barber, of Simply Maven, to bring you the highest level of expertise offered. Ashley is a trained KonMari organizing consultant (the only in Houston!) and shares her services with the intention of getting each client closer to the joyful life she envisions for herself. With Ashley’s tips to create an organized, functioning kitchen plus the easy-to-make recipes provided by Chef Erin, you’ll be excited and ready to start cooking, yourself!

What To Expect

At the event, you’ll enjoy a prepared lunch at the home of natural foods chef Erin Stewart. This casual ‘Lunch + Learn’ environment will allow for a non-judgemental space for questions and personalized answers. Topics of discussion will center around how to construct a one-skillet meal, tips to organize your kitchen for quick prep and cleanup, and weekly time management hacks to get dinner on the table.

Our intention is to instill the ideas of keeping less clutter in your kitchen can lead to more joy around your table and having less stress in the prep, may help you find more enjoyment in the cooking experience!

You’ll walk away with recipes and insightful tips you can use to make meal creations joyful and weeknight dinners a breeze.
